Vincent James Cooksey was born January 25, 1964, in Los Angeles, CA as the youngest son of Robert Cooksey and the late Ruby Cooksey. He was educated in the Los Angeles County School System where he graduated from Mid City Magnet High School. While in High School, he played the forward position on the school\'s basketball team. He attended Los Angeles City College for a brief period where he studied Business and Music. In addition, he had other educational pursuits, including studying Graphic Design, as well as completing a certification program for Fiber-Optics Technology.

Vincent was deeply religious and faithful in his service to God and accepted Christ at a young age. He joined Second Baptist Church in 2012. During his time as a member, Vincent sang in the choir and remained active in the church for as long as his health allowed. He was quite the musician. In addition to his choir membership, he also played the drums for a local band. With his affable personality, he easily engaged in conversations with people from all walks of life. He was friendly, outgoing and well-liked by all he encountered, especially around his neighborhood. Vincent enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, including photography, Biblical studies, Christian music, Jazz, Sports and Vintage Automobiles. He was an avid race car enthusiast and extremely knowledgeable about hot rods, stock cars, and formula-one cars. Vincent previously volunteered as a Docent (tour guide) for the Automobile Driving Museum. He also worked for several years as a chauffeur with Jackson Limousine Services.

Vincent answered God\'s call to return home on Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Cooksey and sister, Darlene Cooksey.

Among the many loved ones left to cherish his memory are his father, Robert Cooksey, brother, Robert Jr., grandmother Stacy Ware, aunt, Judy White (husband William); uncles Oliver Ware (wife Harriette) and Johnny Ware; cousins; and a host of other former classmates, church members, neighbors, friends and other relatives.
