Robert Vernon Woodard was born November 26, 1933, in Bigelow Arkansas to Paul Woodard and Esther Woodard. He was the 3rd of 4 children. Robert affectionately became known as â��Bob.â��

Robert accepted Christ at an early and was baptized at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Arkansas.

He graduated from Morrilton Senior High School. After graduating, he then moved to Wichita, Kansas. Later he relocated to Compton, California where he met and married Hettie Bell. Children joined through this family union were Vernetta Woodard Johnson, Bobby, and William Bell.

Robert was employed all of his adult life, working two jobs one at Norris Industries and the other Liberty Metal.

Robert was a soft-spoken man, who was loved and respected by all. He will be remembered for maintaining the best lawn on the block, and purchasing the finest pieces of furniture for his home. To everyoneâ��s surprise, when entering his backyard, you would find seasonal grapes hanging, apples, lemons and tangerines.

Those who preceded him in death were his parents, Paul and Esther Woodard, Mother II Cora Mack, 2 sons: Bobby and William Bell, granddaughter Starr Bell and brother Wigmon Woodard.

Those left to cherish his memories, his wife Hettie Woodard, daughter Vernetta Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, siblings: Elnora Burton and Artensia Woodard both of Wichita, Kansas; grandsons: Brandon (Danielle) Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, Taiwan Bell of Compton, California; a granddaughter Michelle Bell of Meridian, Mississippi, several great-grandchildren in Wichita, Kansas, Meridian, Mississippi and Los Angeles, California. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.
