Chaney Mae Emerson was born in Orange, Texas on October 9, 1920, to Walter and Pearl Henderson. She was the first born of four children.

While in Houston Chaney graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

Chaney accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active member for 40 years at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Keith B. Williams.

Chaney met Elwood Emerson, and on March 29, 1963, they were married. To this union, Michael Emerson was born. Chaney and Elwood\'s marriage was an example of true unconditional love.

Chaney was a very kind, lovable, caring person who was willing to share what she could with others. She became president of \"Willing Workers\" an organization at her church. She also served as an usher, she was always willing to be of service. Chaney enjoyed helping others and she also loved to travel.

Chaney was the proud business owner of \"M and E Radiator Service.\" She owned and operated this business in Los Angeles, California for 20 years.

On November 13, 2015, Chaney was called home. Those who preceded her in death, her husband Elwood Emerson, her parents Walter and Pearl Henderson, three sisters: Annie Mae Warfield, Geraldine Fraizer and Ruth Fleming.

Chaney leaves to cherish her memories two children: Michael and Josie Emerson, four grandchildren: Michaesha Mesha (Deon) Anderson, La Shica Emerson Hayes, Neva Emerson, Nijna Emerson, four great-grandchildren: Michaesha \"MiMi\" Anderson, Deon Anderson Jr., Amil Hayes, RaShayla Hayes, two special friends Diane Hall and Mary Johnson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
