Ezra Lee Wade was born on July 4, 1930, in Galveston, Texas to Wiley Wade and Beulah (Mills) Wade. Ezra was the third born of six children.

Ezra attended Central High School in Galveston, Texas. He later slipped off and joined the Merchant Marines. He returned home with lots of money he had saved; he bought his mother her first gas stove and a washing machine. He also gave money to his siblings. When his dad saw him smoking, he said \"they have turned my boy out\". Ezra then gave his dad some money and then everything was ok. During childhood, Ezra lived a period of time with his Uncle Ben in the country, where he had several jobs and he learned a lot about work ethic. The family moved to Los Angeles, California in the 50\'s.

Ezra accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Fellowship of Jesus Christ and later Calvary Immanuel C.O.G.I.C., where he was ordained as an Elder. Eventually joined Holy Apostolic Church of God Pentecostal #3, under the leadership of Bishop Michael Ross. Ezra served faithfully as a Deacon/Teacher.

Ezra served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received a Purple Heart and an Honorable Discharge.

Ezra met Fredricka Harrel at Central High School in Galveston, Texas and they were later married, to this union one son was born, Thomas Wade. Ezra later married Bessie Smith in 1978 and he accepted Bessie\'s young daughter, Elaine, as his very own. Ezra and Bessie also cared for his great-nephew, Michael, as their very own son. Ezra later had another son, Donte\' with Janice Charles.

Ezra worked for Gallo Wine Company as a Forklift Operator, Hollywood Park Racetrack as a Security Guard and Loomis Armored US as a Truck Driver. When he was not working, he loved family gatherings, watching tv and listening to talk radio. He was also a member of East Rancho Dominguez Service Center. In earlier times, he enjoyed horse racing. As Ezra grew in his faith, he loved going to bible study and worship services and talking about God\'s Word (the Bible). Ezra cherished times spent with his grandsons (Donte\'s two boys), Dezz and Donte Jr. Ezra was loveable, kind, friendly and his favorite sayings were \"Praise the Lord\", The Lord is Good!, \"I\'m just trying to get well\" and \"I\'m Blessed\".

On Wednesday, October 14, 2015, Ezra was called home to be with the Lord. Those who preceded him in death are his parents, five brothers: Baby Boy, James Berry, Frederick, William, and Robert Wade, Sr., and one sister: Esther Wade-Clayton.

He leaves to cherish his memories his three sons: Thomas Wade of Texas City, TX, Donte Wade of Los Angeles, CA and Michael Evans Jr. of Compton, CA; one daughter: Elaine Smith of Hollywood, CA; one sister Geraldine Wilson of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren: Donte\' Wade Jr. and Dezz Ezra both of Los Angeles, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, neighbors and friends.
