Arlene Collins was born in Waycross, Georgia, on the 10th of April 1941 to Willie Charles Sr. and Wauline Cross Carswell, both preceded her in death. Arlene was the 2nd child out of 12 children 3 of her brothers preceded her in death. The family later moved to Canastota, New York, where Arlene received her formal education and graduated from Canastota High School.

She met her husband, Herman, while he was visiting New York in 1962. There they courted, married and lived in Canastota, NY. They moved to Los Angeles in 1963 where they resided until her death this year.

Arlene worked in the healthcare field for many years. She continued her education in nursing while raising her children and everybody else\'s while attending night school.

Arlene accepted Christ at the Church of the Nazarene in Canastota, NY, where she was a member before moving to Los Angeles. She attended St. Cecelia Church for many years. Then joined Praise Fellowship Community Church when it was organized in June of 1996. Mother Collins loved God and her church family.

Arlene, our beloved \"Nina,\" loved her family deeply. Sharing and giving was without thought unconditionally, and it came with an open heart.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, husband of 58 years, Herman J. Collins, along with their seven children: Jose Collins, Anna Williams, Beverly Jean Norton, Juanita Moore, Gary Collins, Herman Collins III, Deont\'e Hall-Collins; her seven sisters: Josiefeane Miller, Mary Perry of Los Angeles, CA, Dorothy Eubanks, Geraldine Coleman, Martha J. Carswell of Rome NY, Darlene Corpin of Morrisville, NY, Betty Jean Lewis of Canastota, NY; and one brother Earl Carswell of Kalamazoo, Michigan, along with sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, as well as her 46th Street neighborhood and her Church Family.   Our beloved \"Nina\" will be greatly missed by all whose lives had been touched by her presence that loved her dearly.   We thank God for her love and all the years He allowed us to have her. Every praise is to our God.
