Annie King and entered into eternal life on November 26, 2019, in Moreno Valley, CA. The youngest of 11 children, she was educated in the Shelby County, Texas School System and attended Prairie View A&M University. She later earned a degree in Library Science.

In 1953, she married Columbus Watkins Jr. of Dallas, Texas. To this union was born nine children: Teresa, Lola, Columbus III, Anthony, Ruby, Patrick, Martin, Bernard and Linda. In addition to her nine children, Annie also raised granddaughter Jasmine Lucas, following the passing of daughter Linda in 1993. In her later years, she was employed by the Los Angeles City Main Library and City National Bank.

In 1994, she relocated to Moreno Valley, CA, and shortly thereafter retired from City National Bank.  Annie lived a very full life in which she loved to cook, sew, and garden. She was also an avid sports fan and cheered on the Los Angeles Lakers with a passion that few could match.

Annie is preceded in death by parents Sam and Annie, 8 brothers and sisters, daughter Linda Watkins and former husband Columbus Watkins Jr.

She leaves behind daughters: Teresa Hunter, Lola Robbins and Ruby Jones, as well as sons: Columbus Watkins lll, Anthony Watkins, Patrick Watkins, Martin Watkins and Bernard Watkins. She is also survived by sister Doris Shandy of Longview, TX, brother Willie Glen King of San Antonio, TX, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well as a cat, Scampy and a dog, Teacake.
