Delora Elizabeth Wilson, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019. Delora was born September 17, 1935, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Theodore and Mary Cleggett.

As a child, the family moved to Chicago, Illinois. Delora accepted Christ at an early age and an at the Universal Church of God and Christ in Robbins, Illinois. She attended Community High School in Blue Island, Illinois.

As a young woman, Delora wrote to soldiers during the Korean War. She began corresponding with a soldier by the name of, Jimmie Lee Wilson. When he returned to the States, he visited Chicago to meet her. After meeting her, he asked her for her hand in marriage, she accepted and they were married on March 31, 1960, in California. To this union, two children were born: Darlene Wilson and Jimmy Wilson. Delora loved children, taking pictures, reading the Bible, and spending time with her grandson.

Her nickname from her father was \"Sunshine.\" Her husband called her \"Sweets.\" Delora was known in the family as making the best German Chocolate Cake.

Delora was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Jimmie Lee Wilson, one sister Mary Braggs, and one brother: William Cleggett.

Delora leaves to cherish her memories two children: Darlene Marie Wilson and Jimmy Tremel Wilson; two sisters: Grace McKeever and Margaret Eskridge (Lenelle) and one brother Robert Cleggett (Lorraine); and one grandson: Mathew Wilson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
