Tammy La\'Rue Trammell-Howlett was born on September 4, 1960, to Olysee Trammell and Cora Hooks-Trammell in Los Angeles, California. Her Mother and Father preceded her in death. Tammy was the youngest of five children: Alice Brown, Otis Trammell Jr., Linda Trammell (deceased), and Michael Trammell.

Tammy met and married Michael Howlett in 1986. Tammy accepted the Lord in her life at an early age at Sweet Home Baptist Church. She reconnected with the Lord while attending Greater Phillips Chapel.

She started her education here in Los Angeles having attended Graham Elementary, Charles Drew Jr. High and graduating from David Starr Jordan High School, after graduating she attended Compton College where she received her AA Degree.

Tammy started her working career at Fuji Film and Target. She always loved animals, even as a little girl. She landed her dream job with the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control for 20 years.

Tammy enjoyed listening to all types of music, drawing, painting, and photography, she especially liked doing jigsaw puzzles, and other types of Arts and Crafts.

Tammy leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Michael Howlett, sister Alice Brown, brothers: Otis Jr. Trammell, and Michael Trammell; nieces: Tamicko Jackson, and Brittany Trammell, nephews: Daryl Koonce, DeVontre Fisher, Brandon Trammell, and Otis Trammell III; along with great-nephews, great-nieces, aunts, cousins, friends, and her cat Moonie.
