Jeweline Lyles was born on June 23, 1941, to the proud parents of Lewis Lyles, Sr. and Esther Lee Lewis in Palestine, Texas. She was the eighth of ten children.

Jeweline attended school and graduated from Palestine High School in 1958.

Her family moved to California in 1959. Jeweline was introduced to the truth as taught in the Bible, by her brother James Wilson. Brother Luis Sandoval started to study with her, later she dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized January 4, 1964. In spite of her health limitations, Jeweline always put Jehovah first. She was faithful in meeting attendance, and the field ministry as her health allowed.

Her faith guided her life and made her incredibly strong, as was witnessed by those who visited her during her last days.

Jeweline was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lewis Sr. and Esther, her brothers: Sam and James; sisters: Gerthie Mae, and Mary. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and over 8 million spiritual brothers and sisters.
