Evelyn Bass was born May 5, 1947, to Cynthia and Ned Swafford in Winnefield, Louisiana. Evelyn came from a large family of ten children; she was the ninth child with a strong will to succeed.

She had three sisters: Louise Horton, Sadie Reed, and Elenora Geene. She also had six brothers: Ned Jr., Leo, Edward, Joe, Robert, and Royce Swafford; not to mention plenty of relatives and friends that loved her.

Soon after she graduated from Winn Parish High School, she got married to Willie Ray Bass, to this union one child was born, Ronnie Bass. Later as time went by, she chose to come to Los Angeles to take advantage of better opportunities.

Evelyn worked at Anheuser-Busch, after 23 years she retired. As a devoted Christian she decided to join Atherton Baptist Church in Hawthorne, CA. Evelyn became an Usher and Greeter for the church.

Evelyn was blessed with her first grandson, Ronnie Jalen Bass Jr., from her only son Ronnie.

Evelyn was a very active lady; she kept everyone around her happy or either energized. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and going to plays. She really wasn\'t a sports fan, but something about them Lakers, she loved.

In life, she was the first to step up and help someone in their time of need; even if they were complete strangers.

On February 19, 2019, Evelyn, beloved mother, and grandmother passed away and was handed over to the Lord. Adored by all who knew her, Evelyn is remembered and survived by the light of her life.

Thank you for the memories Evelyn. May God receive you into the Kingdom of Heaven, and bless you for eternity.
