Gilda Rhae Windom was born December 7, 1946, in Madisonville, Kentucky to Samuel Brinkley and Geneva Allensworth, she was the 2nd of 11 children. Gilda accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at East View Baptist Church.

Gilda attended Rosenwald High School in Madisonville, KY, and continued her education at Cal State Los Angeles and received a Bachelors Degree, and Cal State Dominguez Hills receiving her Masters.

Gilda united with Bethany Baptist Church of West Los Angeles; she was a faithful member for over 50 years. Gilda met Kenneth Ray Windom in Los Angeles, they were united in Holy Matrimony, and to this union, 2 children were born, Kenneth Ray Jr., and Ricky Ray. Gilda and Kenneth shared over 40 years of marriage.

Gilda worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District for over 30 years as a Teacher. She enjoyed attending Church, early morning walks, and being with family and friends.

Gilda Rhae Windom was a person that not only loved God, but sought to walk in his Word daily. Spending a few minutes with Gilda, one would know that Christ was a priority in her life. She was a very loving person that gave to those in need and would always provide words of encouragement as well. Gilda placed an importance on education and encouraged the youth to succeed in their studies.

Gilda was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Ray Windom, mother Geneva Allensworth, father Samuel Brinkley, grandmother Verna Buckner, sisters: Oretha Allensworth, and Seretha Allensworth; and brother Robert Allensworth.

Those left to cherish her memories are sons: Kenneth Ray Windom Jr., and Ricky Ray Windom, sister Cecilia Gail Runnels-Brinkley, brothers: Gregory Allensworth, Barry Allensworth, Larry Allensworth, Travis Allensworth, Phillip Allensworth, and Tracy Allensworth; grandchildren: Meaghan Peterson, Kayla Mordi, Daa-mu Windom, and Keiara Windom; great-grandchildren: Jayceon Windom, Josiah Mordi, and Nyiah Mordi; and a special friend Mary Mason. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
