Jerrah Lance Armstead was born on May 20, 1963, in Colfax, Louisiana to the proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Joyce Armstead. His family and close friends lovingly called him Jerry. He was the oldest of three children and was raised in a beautiful and praying household in Compton, CA. At a young age, Jerrah professed Christ and was baptized by Rev. George Cobbs at Holy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. After so many years, Jerrah went on his own journey, lived his life, and attended other churches. However, he found his way back to Holy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and rejoined the church under the leadership of Rev. George L. Thomas.

Jerrah attended Compton Unified School District. The schools he attended were Ralph Bunche Elementary, Enterprise Middle School, Compton High School, and Chester Adult School where he received his high school diploma. His favorite subject was math.

As a child, Jerrah loved to color, draw, and solve puzzles. During Jerrah\'s high school years, he enjoyed doing woodwork, TV production, and playing many sports. Jerrah had various jobs during his life\'s journey. His last job was working with his dad at Norris Industry making bombshells for the government. During his leisure time, he enjoyed working on and detailing his green Ford Escort and listening to all types of music. He loved fishing, riding his bikes, painting, and going to the beach. He also enjoyed decorating for every holiday. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He enjoyed decorating the Christmas tree and putting up the Christmas lights every year.

Jerrah met the love of his life, Zelda Davis, in Lynwood, California. He loved and cherished Zelda. From this union came four children, Jerrah Jr., Jecorey, and the twins, Jasmine and Jameil. Jerrah also had an additional daughter, Dawniqua (Mother, Cassandra) Jerrah enjoyed spending time with his children. He would take them to the park, ride bikes, and listen to music with them. Jerrah truly loved his kids.  Jerrah was a very loving and caring son, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed going places such as the beach, amusement parks, the movies, and out to eat with his mother, sister, and nieces KeMarshay, Krishuana, and KeJonnai. Jerrah had a kind and gentle heart.

Jerrah was preceded in death by his brother Dietrick Armstead, and his bonus father, Eziar âClayâ Windsor.

Jerrah will be dearly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father Clarence Armstead, his Mother Joyce Armstead, his sister Kesha Kidd, his children: Jerrah Jr., Jecorey, Jameil, Jasmine, and Dawniqua; his seven grandchildren: Jayden, Aaliyah, Lloyd, Damita, Melody, Rodjanae, and Rodnell; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
