Carolyn Sue Allen, affectionately known as Tanny, was born July 13, 1946, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to the parents of Elymra and Clint Allen Jr.

She attended Attucks School in Vinita, Oklahoma. The family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1958, where she attended Foshay Junior High School and Manual Arts High School. While attending high school she met and married the father of her first three children, Mack Gamble III, Patrice Addison, and Latrice Gamble. After their divorce, she had four additional children, Lee Morris Bateman, Antonia Allen, Brandi, and Brandon Charles. Carolyn worked at several restaurants as a cook, waitress, and manager throughout the Los Angeles and Hollywood areas.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Antonia Allen, her father, Clint Allen Jr., and brother, Kenneth Allen.

She is survived by her mother Elmyra Allen, sister Rosemary Allen, brother J. D Allen (Arlene); her children: Mack Gamble III, Patrice Addison, Latrice Gamble, Lee Morris Bateman, Brandon Charles (Ruby), Brandi Prince (Damien); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Carolyn had many challenges in her life but always returned to the church and her family. She showed lots of love and affection for her family members, friends, and relatives. All who knew Carolyn will miss her hilarious jokes, funny comments, and sayings.
