Aaron Marks Jr. was born October 18, 1944, in the Four Corners of Jeanerette, Louisiana to Reverend Aaron and Bessie Marks Sr. He was the seventh child of ten children.

Aaron heard about the Lord at an early age at his father\'s church St. John Baptist Church. After moving to Los Angeles, he became a member of New Temple Missionary Baptist Church. In 1979, he became a member of Crenshaw Christian Center and attended for 39 years, under the leadership of Apostle Fredrick K.C. Price and Pastor Price Jr. It was there he learned the Word of God, was assured of his salvation and filled with the Holy Spirit. Aaron fellowshipped every Sunday and attended weekly Bible Study. His quiet, meek spirit and study of the Word of God were known by all. He was a bold witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ who loved sharing with everyone.

Aaron received his formal education in Jeanerette, Louisiana. In the early 1960s, Aaron moved to Los Angeles to live with his late Uncle and Aunt, Alexander and Jessie Charles Jr. He started working at his uncle\'s AAA Custodial Maintenance Company where he was well trained in the art of cleaning and maintenance. In 1967, Aaron met his best friend and the love of his life, Barbara Jean Ford. This union continued for 51 wonderful years, raising two sons Alan Ray Law and Robert Andre Ford and making many happy memories to cherish.

Aaron retired from the Department of Water and Power after 34 years of service. Throughout his career as a custodial/maintenance attendant, he received numerous commendations for his excellent work performance and many years of perfect attendance. After retirement, he worked another 6 years in Crenshaw Christian Center\'s housekeeping department. Still not ready to completely retire, Aaron worked another 8 years at California State University Long Beach.

After retiring for good, Aaron enjoyed staying at home, cleaning his house, washing and polishing his cars to a shiny glow and watching westerns on television. However, it was working in his yard, just him and the Lord that he enjoyed most. He could often be heard singing and praising his Heavenly Father while manicuring his beautiful green grass and elegantly trimmed trees. He took great pride in having the greenest lawn on the block and received requests from neighbors wanting help with their lawns.

Aaron wasn\'t fond of traveling and would often tell his wife that he was the âsenderâ and that she could be the traveler, however, to please her, he would go to places like Palm Springs, San Diego and many escapes to Yosemite even though he said they did not need to go back because he knew every tree there. He even traveled to Europe a few times to visit his grandchildren because he loved them so. But one thing for sure, when he returned home, he would definitely say he was glad to be back at his house.

As a husband, Aaron loved his wife like no other in word and deed, making her feel safe and secure through good and bad times. Our last words to each other before Aaron left this life were âI love you!â Aaron was a loving father who was proud of his boys and the men they grew to be. In turn, his sons were extremely proud of him to the point his oldest grandson was named after him.

Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert and six siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Barbara, son Alan (Karen), brothers Dennis, and Benjamin, sisters Dennistine, and Josephine, daughter-in-law Veronica, grandsons: Aaron (Alexia), Damon, Tramell (Sha\'Ron), and Brandon; granddaughter Denise, great-grandchildren: Carina, Amaya and Terrion; sister-in-law Johnnie (Gary), goddaughters Shamika and DeâZhana and many family and friends.
