Jeffery Wayne Hurd was born to Vivian Maxine and Daniel Arthur Hurd on December 9, 1961, in Wharton, Texas. Both parents have transitioned to their heavenly home and are awaiting to greet their son. At an early age, he was relocated to Compton, California with his parents.

He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Zion Baptist Church during his childhood.

He enjoyed all sports; baseball was his favorite. Jeffery also LOVED listening to his favorite old school jams.

Jeffery attended Dominguez High School in Compton, CA, after high school, he joins the Job Corp in Organ. And then later decided to serve his country, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served 18 months in South Korea as a Material Storage Specialist.

On September 21, 2018, he made his transition from earth to his heavenly home. Jeffery leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Jeffrey Cuevas; two sisters, Cheryle Cavitt, and Lisa Rucker (E.C), two adopted sisters, Destiny Crayton, and Donna Brantley, five brothers: Roy Pink, Nathaniel Hurd, Kenneth Hurd, Celester Hurd and Keith Hurd (Juanita); two grandsons, Damien Cuevas, and Isaiah Cuevas, eight nieces, three nephews, nine great-nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
