Mr. Laymon Johnson, Jr. entered this life on Wednesday, September 1, 1948, to the late Laymon Sr. and Bertha Johnson. He was the second of two children born to this union. His brother, Hector preceded him in death. Laymon departed this life on July 15, 2018.

Laymon served five honorable years in the U.S. Navy. He was also a member in good standing of the American Legion for eleven years.

A brilliant man believing in pursuing a higher education, Laymon received an Associate in Technology specializing in Chemical Technology from the University of Dayton; a Bachelor of Technology from the University of Dayton; and a Master of Science in Systems Management. He was also a member of Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society Gamma Beta Chapter.

Thirty-five years ago he married the love of his life, Charlene Johnson. He worked as a Senior Crime and Intelligence Analyst for the Los Angeles Police Department for 21 years.

Laymon leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Charlene Johnson; six in-laws, Ernestine Johnson, Shirleyne Bates, Gloria Johnson Hughes, Charles (Diana) Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Darlene (Darrow) Hughes; eleven nieces: Tracey (Glenn), Rexanne (Melvin), Akosua, India, Glorisha, Sharlisha, Natalie, Shawny (lra), Niecie, Charlena, and Regina; thirteen nephews: Michael, Carlton, Russell, Gabriel (Cerrissa), Solomon, Thomas, Jonathan, Charles, Justin (Shannon), Chris (Shawna), Ramon (Alex), Sean, and Kenyad; cousins: Major Wilson, John Wilson and Edwina Bradley; godchild, Kenyad Atenga, special friend, Virginia McDote, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, co-workers, and friends.
