Ruby Marie Spencer-Warren was born in Marshall, Texas on June 19, 1925. She was the third child born to her proud parents, Fannie Britton Spencer and Odes Spencer.


Ruby accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was added to God\'s family at an early age. She was baptized in water as a testimony making known her profession of faith. She was an active member of West Church of Christ in Marshall, Texas.

Ruby attended the local public schools in Texas and was a graduate of H.B. Pemberton High School. Following High School, she relocated to Compton, California; Ruby furthered her education by attending Compton College; she also united with Northside Church of Christ.

Ruby had a career in Health Care as a Nurse\'s Assistant with the Los Angeles County Department of Health; also she was an Avon Representative.

Ruby was introduced to Julius Warren by her cousin, they were later united in marriage, with Ruby by his side, Julius was an avid Community Advocate serving as the Community Block Club President. Julius and Ruby extended their love as foster parents to several children. In 2000 she was preceded in death her husband, Julius the love of her life.

Ruby is to be remembered as having been a faithful Christian; a loyal companion to her husband; a loving and concerned mother; and a helpful and loving family member to all of her relatives and friends. Ruby transitioned to Heaven on February 7, 2018, at 10:30 AM, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie and Odes Spencer; as well as her sisters: Gladys Spencer, Lela Spencer Cathcart-Ellis, and Nefame Spencer.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful life, sisters: Dorothy Spencer-Layne and Ethel Spencer Cobbins; nieces, Anette Marilyn Layne and Jean Delores Crow; nephews: James Layne, Melvin Anderson and Eugene Warren; and two special great-nieces: Donna & Diane Dunn, and a host of relatives and friends that were all dear to her.
