Dolores Wilson, affectionately known as âMommaâ was a loving woman,  her legacy to her family and friends was a gift of strength and poise through hard times. She was the personification of unconditional love and faith that everything would be all right.   

On January 10, 1930, Dolores was born to Carl Pettis and Margarette Horton, in Chicago, Illinois. Momma was the second oldest of seven children; there was Edna, the oldest of the girls, then Vivian, of the boys, there were four: Jessie, Frank, Carl Jr., and Donald, who has become known as Dr. Donald Pettis. All her siblings except Dr. Donald have preceded her in death.   

Delores went to Corpus-Cristi Grade School and High School, where se met and eventually married Lavern Wilson, who preceded her in death. Five children, were born to this union, Reggie, Valinda, Ricardo, Cedric and Eric.   

Dolores worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a Cook for many years, until she retired.   

Dolores departed this life January 14, 2018. She fought a good fight and finished her course, and has received her crown.   

From her children she was blessed with grandchildren, from Reggie: Reggie Jr., and Mary; from Valinda: Shenelle, Richard Jr., and Ryan; from Cedric: Keith, David, Shaunte, Medley, and Escarllett; from Eric: Eric Jr., Derrick, Aaron, and Alicia. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and nephews, other relatives and friends.
