Linda QâDel Duette was born October 30, 1947, in Los Angeles, California. Linda was the first child born to her proud parents, Willie Duette and Ada Mack Duette. In addition to Linda this union produced three more children. Linda became affectionately known as âLinâ by family and close friends.

Linda attended 79th Street Elementary School where she was an exceptionally good student academically and well rounded socially. She participated in school clubs and continued to grow in popularity. After graduating from Elementary School she attended Thomas Edison Junior High School and joined several Glee Clubs and occasionally played piano in the School Orchestra.

Lin was one of 10 students that volunteered to integrate South Gate High School in 1963. These brave students were targeted daily with racist taunts, objects thrown at them and social isolation by school bullies. Lin, and 7 of the students persevered and were the first integrated graduating class in June of 1965. This experience prepared Lin for life and its many challenges. Her family and community were extremely proud of her accomplishment.

Lin rarely spoke of her unpleasant experiences at South Gate High School although she recognized that her education was an exceptionally good one.

After graduating from high school in 1965, Lin attended both Los Angeles City College and Trade Technical College where she met her future husband, Lloyd Courtney Thierry. They were united in Holy Matrimony in March of 1969. This union was blessed with five beautiful children, TaNiesha Marie, Michaele Renee, Edmund John, Xavier Jerome, and Courtenay Jaqueline.

Lin began her career with the City of Los Angeles in 1972. She worked in various departments retiring from the Bureau of Sanitation in 2015. She was an Executive Administrative Secretary upon her retirement and worked for 39 years for the City. Linda was well liked and respected by all of her co-workers and friends.

Linda came in contact with Jehovah\'s Witnesses from studying the Bible. She quickly developed a love for the Truth. She decided to dedicate her life to Jehovah. On July 11, 1975, Linda symbolized her dedication through baptism and enjoyed going door-to-door speaking about Godâs Kingdom.

Early Saturday morning, April 29th 2017, Linda Thierry passed away at her home with some of her family members at her side. Lindaâs was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ada Mack Duette.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Lloyd Courtney Thierry, her children: TaNiesha Marie Thierry-Clark (James Clark), Michaele Renee Thierry, Edmund John Thierry, Xavier Jerome Thierry, and Courtenay Jaqueline Thierry. In addition to her immediate family members she leaves her brother, Michael Duette (June Duette) and sister, Jeannette Duette Bullock (Richard Bullock); 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
