Earnest Charles Donaldson was born on April 17, 1943, in Mississippi, to Reverend Nathaniel Donaldson and Nettie Ma Hatten Donaldson; Earnest was the second of eight children. He received his education in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Earnest was a man of great faith; he accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He attended Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member for over 12 years, under the leadership of Reverend Milton Marshall Sr.
Earnest was a diligent hard worker and has always been an entrepreneur, he could drive anything on wheels, and if you really know Ernest he liked to dress well, loved nice cars, and he was a great cook.
Earnest met the love of his life Pearl Codd-Grimes who he loved dearly, they were married for 27 years on December 18, 1993. This union included Pearl's children: Sonja, Monique, Robert and Ardonius.
Earnest was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Nathaniel Donaldson, mother Nettie Mae Donaldson and bothers: Herman, James, and Lonnie Donaldson.
Earnest received his Heavenly wings on Friday, January 22, 2021, he will be truly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Pearl, his daughters: Deber Jackson, Pam Hibbler (Keith), Tracy Donaldson-Norfleet (Sammie), Erika Donaldson-Henery (Wayne), his extended children: Ebony, Quiana, Sonja (Darren), Monique, Robert (Kristell) and Ardonius; siblings: Fred Donaldson (Jerelean), Edward Donaldson, Jackie Donaldson Jackson, and Cynthia Donaldson (Donald) Williams; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
