In Loving Memory of Rudolph Richard Jr.
February 22, 1948 - February 28, 2020
Rudolph Richard Jr., 72, was unexpectedly called home by the Lord on February 28, 2020, in Downey, California. Rudolph was born on February 22, 1948, to Rudolph Richard Sr. and Mary Richard in Beaumont, Texas; he was the oldest of 10 children.
Rudolph came to California when he was about 15 years old. He graduated from Jefferson High School and furthered his education at the University of Southern California (USC). After that, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he was later discharged for medical reasons.
Our big brother June had a kind, gentle soul and was full of life and laughter. He was always smiling and very respectful. He chose his path and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family, cussed like a sailor, and was always happy to see you. He was a protector! So, we won't think of June as gone away. His journey has just begun. Life holds so many facets, and living here on earth is only one. We will think of June as resting in a place of warmth and comfort with no fear or worries.
Thinking how June must be wishing he could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. We think of you June as living in our hearts. Nothing loved is ever lost, and you were loved so much. You will be missed but never forgotten! We love you, big brother. Until we meet again... Love always, your family.
Those who preceded him in death were father Rudolph Richard Sr., mother Mary Richard, and brother David Richard.
Rudolph leaves behind his siblings: Brenda Richard, Earnest Ray Richard, Geraldine Richard, Joseph Lee Richard, Audrey Mae Richard-Scott, Judy Ann Richard-Williams, Johnny Ray Richard and Pamela Taylor; special cousins: Daryl King, Rose Marie King, and Princella Guillory; uncles: Clyde Richard and Claude Richard; special friends: Larenza Johnson and Steven Johnson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
