In Loving Memory of Lillie Grigsby
December 3, 1941 - February 2, 2020
Lillie Grisby was born December 3, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Sipio and Otelia Garth. Lillie was the eldest of four children and received her formal education within the Pulaski County School District.
In 1965, Lillie met Earnest Lee Johnson Sr. (who proceeded her in death) they fell in love and were married. To this union, two children were born, Earnest Lee Johnson Jr. (who also proceeded her in death) and Sharon Renee Johnson.
In 1969 Lillie and her two children moved to California, where she became a faithful member of New Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.L. Burden, Lillie served on the Usher Board for over 15 years. Skip served on the Usher Board as well, and Sharon was a Nurse's aide.
In 1992 Lillie found love again and married Richard Grisby. They decided to start a new together in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after moving, Lillie found a church home and in 2002. Richard gave his life to Christ and was baptized at New Jerusalem Worship Center, where she and Richard enjoyed Sunday morning worship until Richard took ill and was unable to attend church services, but their Pastor Rev. James M. Rogers Sr. would stop by on occasion to check on Richard. Lillie was a wonderful wife to Richard and took excellent care of him until he was called home in 2006.
Lillie departed this life on February 2, 2020, surrounded by her family, she leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter Sharon Kendrick who cared for her until her transition, two granddaughters Ashley and Mya Kendrick, a great-grandson Dawson Dixon, two sisters Judy Norman of Lancaster CA, and Lena Maxine Sabb of Little Rock, Arkansas, a brother Doyle Leon Parks of College Station, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
