In Loving Memory of Ollie Clay May, Sr.

October 15, 1929 - January 25, 2020

Ollie C. May Sr. was born on October 15, 1929, in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the union of Willie and Callie B. May. He was the oldest of four siblings.

In 1952, he met and married Ms. Malissa Thomas and to this union, six children were born, Christopher, Vivian, Garland, Ollie Jr., Pamela, and Anthony.

In 1954, Mr. May enlisted and served in the United States Army until 1956. He served as a truck driver and a cook where he enjoyed cooking meals for thousands of his fellow soldiers.

In 1962 the May family relocated to Los Angeles, California.  Mr. May worked for Safeway Groceries as Chief Butcher for more than 30 years, until his retirement in 1992. He was very kind and giving to his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for playing his weekly lottery tickets and playing those horses (Smile).

Mr. May was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. May, his wife, Mrs. Malissa May, his two daughters, Pamela May and Vivian Williams, one grandson, Christopher "Scooby" Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his three sons: Christopher (Julie Ann), Garland and Anthony; his brother Oliver May, granddaughters: Lakeesha Fletcher (Kevin) and TashawannaMorris (Rongald) and Mo'nika May; and one grandson Marqueth May; 20 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

We are going to miss him but God needed him most.
