In Loving Memory of Kalzoria M. Johnson

July 24, 1936 - January 2, 2020

Kalzoria Magaline Johnson was born the first of four to Henry and Winnie Lucas Calhoun (both preceded her in death) on July 24, 1936, in Corsicana, Texas. Kalzoria was raised in a loving and happy family of four (one brother, two sisters).

She was truly an extraordinary woman. Most of all, she was a loving mother.  Kalzoria was well respected by all she came in contact with. She lived by the words she spoke.

Kalzoria accepted Christ at an early age. She was always praising God. At any given time of the day, you can always hear her humming her favorite hymn "Pray for Me" Kalzoria attended Jackson High School. She met Porter Bluitt, from this union she gave birth to one son, Charles Calhoun. Some years later, she met and married the love of her life Earnest Lee Johnson, where she remained truthful and committed to the vows they promised each other on December 25, 1959.

Kalzoria and Earnest relocated from Memphis, Tennessee to Oakland, California in 1965. Although she worked several jobs, nothing was more satisfying than her having her own business. She and her husband started their own Janitorial Service (Cal Ernie & Associates, Inc.) until 2001.

Kalzoria was committed to the family when asked to relocate to take care of a loved one, she never hesitated. She was headed back to Tennessee. While caring for a loved-one (mother-in-law), Kalzoria was struggling with her own illness (Cancer) and the stroke of her husband. Kalzoria, being a strong, prayerful woman, won this battle. However it had weakened her. Once again, Kalzoria and her family relocated to California to live with her son, Charles and wife La Juana. Once she regained her strength, they moved out on their own.

She loved her husband, family, and friends. In July 2019, cancer returned, this time she was not to overcome its wrath. On January 2, 2020, while resting peacefully at St. John of God Rehabilitation Center, Kalzoria was called home.

Kalzoria is now home with her parents Winnie and Henry, brother Joseph Jones and sister Earline Crawford.

Kalzoria leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband Earnest Johnson, son Charles Calhoun Sr. (La Juana-Angel), three grandchildren: Charles Calhoun Jr., Shelli Calhoun and Michael Wiggins; sister Josephine Jones-Corsicana of TX, Goddaughter Samantha Polk, 2 great-grandchildren: Jayden Anthony Wiggins and Kaylani Michico Wiggins. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
