In Loving Memory of Hazel Ruth Williams

September 8, 1932 - October 30, 2019

Hazel Ruth (Walker) Williams was born on September 8, 1932, to Joseph and Naomi Walker in Gene Autry, Oklahoma. She was called home on October 30, in the City of Industry, California. Hazel was 87 years of age.

Hazel grew up in Gene Autry, Oklahoma, and graduated from Lincoln Consolidated High School, with the highest honors. Upon completion of high school, she attended Langston University, School of Religion, in Langston, Oklahoma. She accepted Christ at a very young age and lived her entire life as a strong Christian woman.

Hazel married Freddie L. Williams in the year of 1954. To this union, six beautiful children were born: Gary, Shelley, Keith, Robin, Frederick, and Steve.

In 1958, the Williams family left their home in Oklahoma and relocated to California to start new beginnings. Hazel spent many years working at the United States Postal Department, and then she dedicated her life to raising her children.

Hazel loved, cared for, and was truly dedicated to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many others that came through her doors. She cared for others as if they were her own. Hazel cared for her only daughter Shelley for seventeen years as she battled with Multiple Sclerosis. She did this with grace and honor and never once complained. She was one of a kind.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: David, Thomas, and Joey; her children: Gary, Keith and Shelley, and lastly, her eldest grandson Derrick.

Family members that will cherish her memories are her three sons: Robin (Frances) of Gardena, CA, Frederick (Cheri) of Chino, CA, and Steve (Gayle) of Riverside, CA; two sisters: Jeraldine Foster of Green Bay, Virginia, and Linda Antwine of Ardmore, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Hazel will be missed so much, but her legacy and memories will live on with her family.
