In Loving Memory of Johnnie Moore

October 11, 1961 - August 2, 2019

Johnnie Moore was born November 30, 1925, in Cleveland, Arkansas, to loving parents, Roosevelt Moore and Leena Moore. He was the firstborn of four children. He received his education in the Arkansas School System. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. When he became an adult, he was inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and discharged in 1946.

Johnnie accepted Christ at an early age in Cleveland, Arkansas, and was baptized at Mount Olive Church. Johnnie had the pleasure of meeting Cleo Baskins at a family members' home in 1945. On August 6, 1946, Johnnie and Cleo were united in Holy Matrimony, to this union, one child was born, John L. Moore. Johnnie and Cleo shared 73 beautiful years of marriage.

After their marriage, they moved to Los Angeles, California, and joined Saint Rest Baptist Church in 1957, where he served as a Deacon. Johnnie joined Greater Faith Missionary Baptist church in 1982 under the leadership of Reverend Fred Autry until Pastor Autry retired. He continued service under Pastor Scott Lawrence until his departure. Johnnie served under the current leadership of Pastor Melvin T. Evans until his passing.

John was employed at Crest Auto Shop, where he worked diligently for over 30 years as a Body and Finder repairer. He loved traveling and camping with his wife and grandchildren. He was a 33rd Degree Mason since 1963.

On October 15, 2019, Johnnie Moore was called to his eternal home. His mother, father, and siblings, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Cleo Moore, his son, John L. Moore, grandsons: John L. Moore and Ronnie Muhammad; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
