Sheryl Jean Taylor was born on March 11, 1948, in Los Angeles, California to Wilbert Sr. and Marie Holmes Miller, (both of whom preceded her in death. she was the oldest child of seven children; four sisters, two brothers (one of which, Willie James Miller preceded her in death). Sheryl grew up in Los Angeles and later relocated to Compton, California where she attended and graduated from Compton High School, in 1966. she continued her educaiton and graduated from Compton Junior college in 1968.
Sheryl began working for American honda in 1968. She later retired after 41 years of service in 2009, as a Logistics and Transportation Administrator. Sheryl worked for Honda so long that her co-workers in Parts Operations lovingly called her"BC" or Before Cars. When she started working for Honda, they were only manufacturing and selling motorcycles and power equipment. Sheryl often stated while working at Honda, that "one of the things that made me so proud to work for Honda is the people and their loyalty to the company."
Sheyl was blessed with her one and only son, Christopher Eugene Miller, who everyone knew, was her pride and joy. she later married Charles Taylor and helpted to raise his son, Charles D. Taylor in the home were they lived together as a family in Inglewood, CA.
Sheryl accepted christ at an early age and attended the Pentecostal Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Dr. O.M. tyler. She later attended Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Ticey M. Brown. As a child of God, she was always willing to add her prayerful and encouraging thoughts to the siblings daily group text prayers.
Her hobbies included golfing and bowling, where she always was sure to demonstrate her competitive but love-all personality. Because of her passion for sports, she was able to travel with her teams throught the United States.
Sheryl leaves to cherish her memories: her husband; Charles Taylor, her son; Christopher Miller (Jacqueline Miller), her stepson; Charles D. Taylor, her God Child; Yolanda Loper, her grandchildren; Christopher Miller Jr., Cre'shea Miller and Tiffany Lee, one brother; Wilbert Miller (Michelle Miller), four sisters; Marilyn Tippin (Arthur Tippin), Rosemarie Spencer (Jerry Spencer), Diane Pearl Oliver (Gregory Oliver Sr.), and Jacqueline Hill (Gregory Hill); nieces and nephews; Annette Miller, Katasha Handy (Keenan Handy), Gregory Oliver Jr. (Schenequia Oliver), Erick Oliver, Jerry Spencer Jr., Safiya Cramer, Stacey Marie Hicks (Raphael Hicks), Aaron Hill and several grand nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Special friends; Vera Parks and Jackie Kennison and a host of other relatives and friends.
