In Loving Memory of Trudy Pemberton
February 27, 1953 - August 16, 2019
Trudy Jeris Fine Pemberton was born February 27, 1953, in Los Angeles California to the parents Napoleon and Martha Fine; she was the oldest of five children.
Trudy went to Hooper Avenue Elementary School, Carver Middle School and graduated from Jefferson High School. Trudy continued her education attending West LA College were she received an AA Degree in Liberal Arts. She furthered her education by going into the nursing field.
Trudy was previously married to Douglas Pemberton, and through this marriage, her daughter Arista Pemberton was born.
Trudy accepted the Lord as her personal Savior when she was a child. She attended Greater Saint James Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized there at an early age. She joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and later joined West Angeles Church of God in Christ, and was a member for twenty-nine years. She sang with the Women's Day Choir at West Angeles COGIC; she also sang with Trenora Parker for three years at the Carson Civic Center during the Christmas season. She was a member of Overcomers Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord, and when she could not attend church any longer due to her health, she would faithfully watch the television ministry. Even though her health declined, she still trusted in the Lord and witnessed to others.
Trudy loved her garden and her two dogs, Cookie and Spiky. Trudy possessed a green thumb! She planted collard greens, sweet potatoes, corn, strawberries, tomatoes, eggplant, okra, bell peppers, cabbage, etc. She loved spending time with her one and only daughter; they enjoyed spending time at the movies, eating at different restaurants, and going to Catalina Island. Trudy had a strong will to live and overcome her illnesses.
Trudy always told her daughter never give up and always keep your self looking presentable. She also loved to shop, cook, and dance. LOL. Trudy was a professional model and a lady of fashion, who modeled on many occasions (churches, and department stores.) She loved the finer things in life and always wanted the best. Trudy always taught her daughter to follow her dreams and to keep singing. She would always go to auditions, talent shows, and more, even when she felt bad; she was a dedicated single mom who loved her child.
Trudy received her wings on August 16, 2019, at 4:45 pm, when her Lord and Savior called her into her Heavenly home. Her father Napoleon Fine Jr. preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother, Martha Fine, her one and only dedicated daughter, Arista Pemberton, her four siblings: Linda Fine, Danny Fine, Carolyn Fine, and Donald Fine; her two nieces: DonUnique Fine, and Jasmyne Fine; one nephew Nicholas Williams, and a host of cousins, and friends.
