In Loving Memory of Willie E. Lee

August 8, 1933 - July 25, 2019

Willie E. Lee Sr. was born on August 18, 1933, in Monroe, Louisiana to Jack Lee and Katie Tolston; he was the 6th of 6 children. Willie attended Carol High School in Monroe, where he played Football.

Willie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1945, in Monroe, Louisiana. He later became a member of West Angles COGIC and has been a member for 42 years under the leadership of Bishop Charles E. Blake Sr. Willie was an Elder, he was the Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Choir, and the Vessels Ministry.

On June 4, 1953, Willie enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country. Willie served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged June 3, 1961.

Willie met Vernodean Tippens in Los Angeles, CA. They were married in 1978, although no children were born to this union, they became a blended family. Willie had Ugunda, Ronald, Sharon, Janine, Willie Jr., Renee, Darrell, Yvonne, Lynn, and Rodney. Vernodean had Braxton, Darrell, Hubert, Juanita and Antonio. Willie and Vernodean shared 37 years of marriage.

Will worked for Ray Joseph Enterprises as a Resident Manager for 25 years. He loved family gatherings, his church, and he loved to laugh. He was very humorous, giving, humble, and hard worker. He was an encourager to many people.

Willie was called home on July 25, 2019. Those who preceded him in death were his parents Jack Lee and Katie Tolston, his brother Arthur Johnson, and daughter Lynn Lee.

Those left to cherish her memories are wife, Vernoean Lee, children: Ronald Lee, Sharon, Janine McGee, Willie E. Lee Jr., Renee Lee, Darrell Lee, Yvonne Lee, Rodney Lee, Uguanda Freeman, Braxton Floyd III, Darrell Floyd, Hubert Floyd, Juanita Nelson, and Antonio Floyd; over 25 grandchildren, and over 25 greatgrandchildren, daughters-in-laws Kim Robinson-Floyd, Sharon Floyd, Karen Lee, Veronica Lee, and Gert Lee; sons-in-law: Shawn Combs, David McGee, Calvin Freeman, Pastor Sharon Boley (Robert Boley); nieces: Ethel Despenza, Bernitha, and Angie; He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
