In Loving Memory of Carol Ann Dotson-Bell
February 3, 1958 - July 2, 2019
There is a garden where Jesus is waiting. There's a place that is wondrously fair. For it glows with the lights of his presence, Tis the beautiful garden of prayer.
Carol Ann Dotson-Bell stepped into this beautiful garden to join our Heavenly Savior on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. She was the last of 15 children to reunite with her loving parents, siblings, and other family members that preceded her in death.
Carol A. Dotson was the last born out of 15 children born to the proud parents of Hezekiah and Ella on February 3, 1958, in Torrance, California. Born into a large family with 14 siblings before her, she was the baby of the bunch and sure to be spoiled and nourished by all.
Carol accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized and attended the family church First Corinthians, located in Los Angeles, California. Hezekiah and Ella laid an early foundation for her, and all her siblings and that very foundation kept her grounded.
Carol received her education in the Compton Unified School district, graduating from Compton Sr. High School.
In her early years, she gave birth to her first son, Mario Reed. For years it was just the two of them until she later met and married the love of her life, her soul mate Luther Bell Jr. on November 1, 2008. To this union, her 2nd son, Leonté Bell, was born. She and Bell were determined to raise the boys in a caring, loving environment also instilling both of them with morals and values.
Carol fondly known as Karen, a name her late husband Bell called her, lived a full and vigorous life. Creating her own lane, in which she always stayed in. She loved to dance and was the life of every party. She was most happy when surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren. She was heard at every family gathering or reunion telling her nieces and nephews that she was OUR last living Aunt and she demanded to be treated as the queen she was.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Luther Bell, parents Hezekiah and Ella; siblings: Frank, Hezekiah Jr., James, Ronnie, Edward, Danny, Sammy, Charles, Glen, Mattie, Clarice, Mae Catherine, Linda Kay, and Masaline.
Carol leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, two loving sons, Mario Reed, and Leonte Bell. A host of grandchildren, one great-grandson, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, family and friends.
