In Loving Memory of Don C. Walton, Jr.

January 10, 1963 - June 24, 2019

Don Cornell Walton Jr. was born on January 10, 1963, to Cornell and Faye Walton in Los Angeles, California. Don received his early education in Sun Valley, California where he attended San Fernando Valley Christian School, Grades 1 to 4. He completed elementary school Grades 5-6 at Leapwood Elementary School, Glen Curtis Middle School, and graduated from Banning High in Wilmington, California. Don also played Football for Banning High School. While attending middle school, he became interested in the martial arts and continued his training with IMB Academy while in high school.

Don was baptized into Christ at the Figueroa Church of Christ at an early age and participated in various youth group activities at the church which included singing with the Little Angeles Singing Group, attending Bible School, and attending the National Youth Conferences in various states.

Don had a very active church life. Though it wasn't easy being the eldest of an Elder's son, Don was being grounded from the start with parents that believed Proverbs 22:6, ‚Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.‚ This molding and preparation prepared Don for the man he would become and the leader and provider he was to his household.

Don was extremely intelligent. Beyond his years actually. There was not a topic he could not follow or have input on. He was very opinionated to say the least.

Don had the opportunity to go on many vacations in his youth. With a Public Accountant (PA) dad with his own business and a mom as a school teacher with summers off, this was the perfect scenario for vacations. There are not many places Don had not traveled.

After high school, Don attended both Harbor and Cypress Colleges where his first career aspiration was to pursue studies as a Registered Nurse. During that time the nursing field was so impacted that Don began working in a variety of businesses before he found a career in computer technology. He excelled in computer training and became State Board Qualified for positions in the computer industry.

Don met the love of his life, his future wife and lifetime partner in high school. Don and Kattie married August 5, 1989, at the Figueroa Church of Christ. To this union, Elliot and Chelsea Walton were born. Don made sure a way was provided to move our family into our earthly home in the City of La Habra in Orange County.

Don had many hobbies. He loved sports of all kind. Basketball, Football, Tennis, Swimming, Mixed Martial Arts, you name it. He never tried golf though. Don was a certified diver. He had a love for water and could swim like a fish. Don was California Department of Justice Firearm Safety Certified. He truly believed God carved man as protectors. Don was part of our neighborhood watch and always on guard to protect his family, neighbors, and friends. I would let Don know we suit up every day by putting on our full Armour of God Ephesians 6:11-17 (not to exclude verse 18 with staying prayed up always). Don insisted we go to the shooting range to learn how to fire a firearm. Don also insisted the entire household study some form of self-defense. For years the family attended Hapkido classes in the South Bay area. Don also had Elliot studying Krav Maga while keeping his connections with the IMB Academy.

Don had a workforce family. Don worked for Wipro Technologies for over 20 years. Though Don held numerous positions, the one he felt great about getting up going to work was his position as Change Control Coordinator and Help Desk Supervisor. When Don was assigned the Judicial Courts of California as his direct account, needless to say, this was right up his alley. Overseeing employees daily performances and managing employee's schedules, fulfilled Don tremendously. Don would always say he felt he had a God sent boss in Loretta Mora.

Don was preceded in death (or the true beginning of life) by his father Cornell Walton and nephew Jeremy Allen.

Don leaves to forever cherish his loving memory his wife Kattie Elizabeth Walton, two children: Elliot Vaughn Walton and Chelsea Breann Walton; his mother Faye Walton, his brother Leslie Vaughn Walton; nieces: Sofia Walton, Sydney Walton, Shelby Walton, Tori Norman, Toni Hill, Yve Adams, Lonnise Adams, Carmen Adams, and Sarah Adams; nephews: Melvin Young Jr., Lonnie Adams Jr., Jaymes Adams, and Myles Adams; cousins: Henry King, Jeff Robinson, Jeffery Robinson, and Stanley Robinson; a host of uncles, aunts: Randi King, Vernell Robinson and a host more; a loving mother-in-law Gracie Lee Hill who called Don son; brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Gracie Lee Robinson, Jeffrey and LaTonya Allen, Lonnie Guy and Maria del Carmen Adams, Vauneld and Sabrina L. Adams, Anthony and Debra Hill. He also leaves a host of friends and a very beloved Church Family, both Figueroa and La Habra Church of Christ.
