In Loving Memory of James C. Womack

August 13, 1929 - March 10, 2019

James C. Womack "JC" was born August 13, 1929, in Jackson, Tennessee to Annie May (Trotter) and Byrd Womack.

James had five brothers: PJ, Leroy, Lovie Lee, T. Willie, and Raymond (all deceased); two sisters: Mary Woods (deceased), and Birdie Womack.

James attended Mary High School in 1949. JC loved to work as a child, which gave him the good work ethics that he maintained as an adult. He tried to instill these ethics in all of his children, and grandchildren. James worked at Gleson Industries and IL Walker as a printer for over 50 years.

In 1952 he met Joann Hossett and they relocated to South Bend, Indiana where they then married. They were blessed with five sons: Joe B., Charles, Jimmy, Ronald, Darnell Evans: six daughters: Deanna, Marry Weather, Linda Harrison, Maxine P., Vanessa Womack, Tina Williams, and Carolyn Barnes. Unfortunately, James and Joann"s relationship didn"t last.

James then traveled to Chicago, IL where he met Jeannie D. Womack. They moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1968 where they united, and this union brought six children: two daughters: Jacqueline Kimmons, and Angelique Womack (deceased); four sons: Melvin Ellis, Cedric Ellis, James Womack, and Raymond Womack.

James enjoyed watching the news, reading, drinking his beer (Budweiser), and looking out the window, to make sure there were no kids on his grass.  He also enjoyed working in his garden, where he grew fruits and vegetables. Some people may have mistaken him for a mean person, but he was really a kind, loving individual who was just a no-nonsense type of person; you could come to him for anything, and he"d help out. But he wanted us to learn to do it ourselves because he would say, "one day I won"t be here." and today is that day.

Preceding him in death was his lovely wife, Jeannie Womack, his daughter Angelique Womack, son Joe B., his five brothers, and sister Mary Woods.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, grandchildren: Marshall Kimmons, Brandi Kimmons, Adrianne Kimmons, Heavenly Kimmons; sister Birdie Womack, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
