In Loving Memory of David M. Washington

August 18, 1942 - December 29, 2018

David Maurice Washington was born August 18, 1942, in the State of Texas, to the proud parents of Dave Washington and Odessa Franks. He was the fourth child of this union.

David received his early education and graduated High School in the State of Texas. He was a very strong and determined young man. At the age of 8 years old he was diagnosed with polio and bound to a wheelchair, but David overcame his challenges, and taught himself to walk again.

David accepted Christ at an early age, in 1990 he married his soul mate Avis L. Emerson. David was employed by JPL a Division of Nasa Space Aviation Center as a Supervising Electrician for 12 years until his health began to decline.

David was a gifted painter and artist. He loved working with his hands; he had skills, he could repair or rewire just about anything. He was a "Mr. Fix It." In his spare time, he loved to read the L.A. Times Newspaper, listen to the Daily News, and watch Football.

David was preceded in death by his father Dave Washington, mother Odessa Washinton, sisters Davie L. Hawthorne, and Shirley Miller.

David will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 28 years Avis Lee Washington, two daughters: Lisa Washington, and Lynne Washington; two stepsons: Preston L. Emerson, and Michael A. Emerson; two sisters: Ruby Theophile, and Debra Lilly of New York; three grandchildren: N'cole Johnson, Jazmine Wesley, and Jordan Vaughn; two great-grandchildren: Charli, and Carter. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
