In Loving Memory of Mary S. Henry
January 19, 1959 - December 24, 2018
Mary S. Henry was born on January 19, 1959, in Dermott, Arkansas. She was the first born of triplets and was blessed to have had two sets of parents that loved her dearly. Her biological parents Eli and Willie Lee Sanders, and adoptive parents Caesar and Ernestine Carlyle all have preceded her in death.
Mary accepted Christ and was baptized in 1972 at Calvary Baptist Church in Dermott, Arkansas under the leadership of Rev. J. R. West and joined the Bethel MBC family on December 29, 1996, under Pastor Reginald Pope in Los Angeles, California.
Mary moved to California in 1979, and later married Raymond Henry Sr. in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 18, 1989.
Mary loved her job and the work that she performed. Even as a young child, she loved helping others in whatever way she could. Mary was a Mental Health Worker with La Casa Mental Health Rehab Center in Long Beach, California for the last 10 years.
Her love for her family was rooted in her faith. She was first and foremost a believer in Jesus Christ and a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. But, most important of all Mary's love for the Lord never wavered throughout her illness... She trusted Him until the end.
Mary's siblings that preceded her in death were Minnie Lee, Leroy, Earnestine, triplets Maria, Mark, and Marilyn, twin Carolyn; Rosie, Dauphina, Caesar Jr., and twins Martha and Mildred, and Thomas.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, husband Raymond Henry Sr., sons: Colvin (Sheila); Raymond Jr. (Paitra), and Desmond; daughter D"onna (Kory), seven grandchildren: Uriah, Noah, Colvin Jr., Devante, Jorgia, Tionna, and Peyton; brothers and sisters: Elizabeth Husley, Doris Jones, Deliah Butler, Ruthie Sanders, Martha Sanders, Eli Sanders Jr., Cal. D. Sanders, Freddie Sanders, Milton Sanders, Walter Sanders, Deloris Sanders, Harold Carlyle, Ernestine Franklin, Archie Carlyle, Stanley Carlyle, and Nettie Glover. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
