In Loving Memory of Rose Helen Long

January 2, 1936 - November 6, 2018

Rose Helen Long was born January 2, 1936, in Montgomery, Alabama to Walter Trotter Sr. and Rosa Lee Snipes. Rose accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. 

Rose attended Booker T. Washington High School. She was the Class Valedictorian. She furthered her education attending Wayne State University. 

Rose accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Rose united with Trinity Baptist Church and was a faithful member for 20 years. 

Rose married David Long who was her high school sweetheart. No children were born to this union. 

Rose was employed by St. John's Hospital, in the Food Service Division; she worked there for 25 years. Rose loved family gatherings, watching TV, gardening, reading, and music. She enjoyed word searches, outdoor activities, horseback riding, and swimming. Rose was devoted, loving, and kind-hearted. She was very thoughtful and helpful to her younger siblings, nieces, and nephews. 

Rose was preceded in death by parents Walter and Rosa Lee, sisters: Joan Trotter-Clayton, Juanita Trotter, Rubye TrotterHarrison, and Mamie Trotter-Durham; brothers: Samuel Trotter, Walter Trotter Jr., Ben Trotter, and Drafus Trotter; 

Rose leaves to cherish her memory, siblings: Ann Trotter-Fricks, Winston Trotter (Diane), Michael Trotter, Havard Trotter, and Clifford Trotter. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
