In Loving Memory of Gloria Dean Young

February 27, 1934 - November 15, 2018

Gloria Dean Young was born February 27, 1934, in Los Angeles, California to Reuben and Ossie Belle Smith. She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age and was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church of Los Angeles, CA. She currently attended Emmanuel House of Worship where she held the title of Mother of the Church.

Gloria attended schools in Los Angeles Unified School District, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School. Gloria later reunited with Welvin Young who was the love of her life.

Gloria was employed for 15 years at AT&T, 15 years at Boeing and 5 years with the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Gloria enjoyed cooking, spending time with her children, family and occasional trips to the Casinos. She loved the Lord and extended that love to everyone she came across.

Gloria leaves the legacy of her loving family that includes her three children: Alice Marie Ferguson (Chevis), Aaron Junior, and Charles Lee Sanford; sisters: Kay Francis Johnson (Kenneth), and Joyce Parker; one aunt, Hester Smith; three stepdaughters: Vicki Davis Gafford, Felicia Davis Jackson, Patricia Davis Bozarth; one godson and a total of 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
