In Loving Memory of Willie Elbert Walker

July 6, 1934 - October 17, 2018

Willie Walker arrived into this life on July 6, 1934, in Tallulah, Louisiana to Mattie Riley Walker. He was the second of seven children.

He later moved with his family to Fresno, CA where he attended school and then graduated from Edison High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy where he served his country with dignity until 1957.

Willie met and married Velma R. Hill in 1958; the Lord blessed this union with three children, William Edward, Sheila Yvonne, and Adrian LaRoy Walker.

Willie became affectionately known as "Walker," and was a pillar in his community, proudly serving for many years as a Scout Leader in the Boy Scouts of America; he also served as a leader in the PTA.  He had many passions, singing, acting, and dancing were just a few. He also was an avid gardener, whose green thumb brought beauty to his neighborhood.

Willie was preceded in death by his grandparents Sam and Toy Walker of Richmond, CA, mother Mattie Riley-Walker of Rayville, LA, father Riley Walker, stepmother Alonzo Mary Walker of Fresno, CA, daughter, Sheila, great-granddaughter Sheilah Brice of Los Angeles, CA, sister Nancy Ash, and brother Albert Walker of Dallas, TX.

Those left to cherish his memories and his many accomplishments are his wife Velma, sons: William Sr. (Adriana) of Ontario, CA, and Adrian (Sheila) of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren: Takeya (Steve) Williams Jr., Markus (Shanae), Brandon (Raquel) Jón Rafeal, Ashley (Stephen), and Jordan Perkins; great-grandchildren: Lenijah, Deija, Jacob, Loren, Zahara, Khalil, Kendrick, Jonas, and Maice; one great-great-grandchild Chilo LaNiyaah; two sisters Carrie Smith of Pacomia, CA, and Bessie Everett of Delhi, LA; one brother Sam Davis of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
