In Loving Memory of Clarence Martin Fields-Filyaw

December 16, 1943 - April 6, 2018

Clarence Martin Fields (Filyaw) born December 16, 1943, to the late Clarence Filyaw Sr., and Mary Bell Hall, both parents preceded him in death. Clarence met and married Esther Terri Brown, and to their union, six children were born, Clarence later met and married Annie Benson, and to their union, two children were born. Clarence fathered two other children with Donna and Sandra. Clarence attended school and graduated from the Los Angeles Unified School District. Clarence was a member of the "Sons of Watts" a grass root community activist group which culminated out of the Watts Riots uprising during the 1960's. Clarence also belonged to a Van Club and frequented the Motorcycle set. Clarence was employed in the fiberglass industry and later worked with the City of Los Angeles Sanitation Department. Clarence hobbies were building cars and vans, camping, fishing, entertaining, listening to music, cooking, and playing dominoes.   

Clarence became a member of the Great Hope Missionary Baptist Church in the year 2000, under the leadership of C.D. Legrande.   

Those who preceded Clarence in death were his grandparents: Alice Smith, Jefferson Hall, Jenkins Filyaw and Virt Lee Larkin; sisters: Ella Filyaw and Beverly Jo Peters; and brothers, Tyrone and Lloyd Peters.   

Clarence leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Annie Benson-Fields, his companion Sandra Smith, six daughters: Terri Deann Little (Tyrone), Aurora Fields, Audra Fields-Mosley (Andre), Timanese Fields, Arnita Fields, Tatiana Filyaw and Jacquelyn Fields; three sons: Clarence Fields Jr. (Clavee), Donshae Fields, and Terrance Filyaw; two sisters: Annette Brown, and Lee Ester: three brothers: Eugene Gaines (Bonnie), Clarence Filyaw (Cherrie) both of Houston Texas, and Andrew Peters; nineteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, six nieces, five nephews, three great-great nieces and five great-great nephews, his extended family sister and brothers: Darlene, Darnell, Dwight, Stanley, Gregory, Michael, Louis Elam, and Steve Williams along with their spouses whom Clarence endeared as his own children; stepchildren: Antoine, Ricky, Deonta and Michelle; brother-inlaw, Johnnie Clark (Joyce), sisters-in-law: Willie, Essie, and Barbara Ann, and a host of relatives and friends.
