In Loving Memory of Irma Jean Lewis-Bell

April 4, 1968 - February 19, 2018

Irma Jean Lewis-Bell was born on April 4, 1968, in Osceola, Arkansas, to Robert Lee Lewis and Mary Lou Lewis. Irma loved the Lord and professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Greater Temple of God Missionary Baptist Church; under the leadership of the late Dr. W. T. Snead.

Irma attended Russell Elementary School, Charles Drew Junior High, and John C. Fremont High School all in Los Angeles, California. After graduating in 1986, she attended and graduated from the Bryman College, as a Medical Assistant. She worked as a Medical Assistant in the office of Dr. Keith Perry, and later became the nurse at Theresa Lindsay Senior Center, where she remained until she started her own business in 1998; the Lewis Family Child Care. Irma loved the Lord, and she loved life. She had a passion for reaching out to others. Her love for children not only opened the doors of the Lewis Family Child Care but also led to the adoption of her youngest son, Jonathan Nathaniel Ivey.

On August 25, 2012, Irma married the love of her life, Dennis T. Bell, who faithfully remained at her side.

Irma was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Lewis, two brothers: Robert Lee Lewis, Jr., and Darrell Newsom, one granddaughter, Symphony Willis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Dennis T. Bell of Los Angeles, California; three sons: Jerry Lee Willis, III, Jonathan Nathaniel Ivey, and Dennis Bell, Jr. all of Los Angeles, California; three daughters: Juquita Bell, Denisha Bell and Demika Bell all of Los Angeles, California; four sisters: Frankie Lewis, Brenda Lewis, Sharron Lewis all of Los Angeles, California, and Sherri Newsom of Chicago, Illinois; five brothers: Joe (Carolyn) Bates of Los Angeles, California; Charles (Jacqueline) Lewis, Gregory (Brenda) Newsom of Osceola, Arkansas; Adrian (Sherry) Newsom of Nashville, Tennessee, and Freddie Lewis of Cleveland, Ohio; five sisters-in-law: Kathy Lewis of Blytheville, Arkansas, Peggy Bell, Mary Bell, Juliette Bell, and Alicia Bell all of Los Angeles, California; two brothers-in-law: Douglas Bell and Kennedy Bell of Los Angeles, California; fourteen grandchildren, one godson, Marcel Winchester of Panorama City, California, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
