In Loving Memory of Clarence Pearson, Jr.

June 22, 1948 - January 29, 2018

Clarence "Jack" Pearson, Jr. was born on June 22, 1948, to the late Clarence Pearson, Sr. and Ora Mae DeLoarch Pearson in Coronado, California. Clarence "Jack" Pearson peacefully transitioned from his earthly life to eternal rest on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 5:30 pm at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California.

Upon graduating from Coronado High School, Jack enrolled in San Diego City College and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Robinson. From that union, they had a beautiful daughter, Kimberly. Jack was later drafted into the United States Army where he served for 2 years. Following his brief stint in the Army, Jack would later relocate to Los Angeles County where he met his second wife, Kathy Teems in 1976. From that union, they had a handsome son, Clarence Pearson, III "Manny."

Jack accepted Christ as his personal Savior and encouraged others to do the same. He loved the Lord and enjoyed talking to others about the Bible, often asking "Do you know Jesus?" Jack was a faithful Christian soldier in his later years and never passed up the opportunity to counsel any lost souls.

Jack was gainfully employed for 28 years with the Metropolitan Transit Department (MTA). Even after Jack retired from MTA, he continued his illustrious career in transit with the Long Beach
Transit Company were he remained for 8 years.

In Jack"s early years, he loved to race cars, life weights and enter bodybuilding competitions. He loved life and new adventures, eventually taking up photography and countless other hobbies. Despite his gruff exterior, Jack loved life and was very giving; he was convinced that he had what everyone needed and was not shy about sharing his experiences and opinions. Jack's infectious laugh, mischievous grin, and wicked sense of humor were trademarks of his bigger than life personality. He loved to prank family and friends, once coloring his sculpted body green and chasing his nieces and nephews around an apartment complex while impersonating The Incredible Hulk!

Jack"s parents and one sister, Cleotha, preceded him to glory. Jack leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 41 years, Kathy Pearson; one daughter, Kimberly (Ricky) of Charlotte, NC; one son Clarence "Manny" Pearson, Ill (Dominque) of Houston, TX, one granddaughter, Cyan, and four remaining siblings: Ethel Brooks (Lloyd) of Williamsburg, PA, and Evelyn Pearson-Ray (Roy) of Murrieta, CA; mother-in-law, Sarah Hurt, sisters-in-law, Mary Justice (Jerome), Arlene Hurt, Velma Simpson (Ronald) and brothers in-law: Charles Douglas (Elizabeth), Angelo Hurt (Audrey), and Clinton Hurt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
