In Loving Memory of Walter Lee Smith, Jr.

March 3, 1949 - December 27, 2017

Walter Lee Smith Jr. was born March 3, 1949, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Walter Lee Smith Sr. and Mary White, he was the 3rd of 4 children.

Walter accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Robert Arline Jr. Walter met and married Bettye Elois; they became a blended family with Walter's children: Lisa Ann, Pamela Ann and Walter Lee III; and Bettye's children Sonya Patrice, and Darrel Lyndell. To their union, Tyler Nicole was born. Walter and Bettye shared 28 years of marriage.

Walter was a dedicated and hardworking employee of Brookfield Property Partners for over 25 years.

Walter was lovable, friendly and a loyal person to all who knew him. He was known for his outgoing personality and his love of sports.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching basketball and football, rooting for the Pittsburg Steelers in every game. He also enjoyed getting together for family gatherings.

Walter was called home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2017, and was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Elois Hines-Smith, sister, Rosie Lee Smith, and his father, Walter Lee Smith Sr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories children: Lisa Ann Smith, Pamela Ann Smith, Walter Lee Smith III, Tyler Nicole Smith, Sonya Patrice Hines, Darrell Lyndell Hines; sisters: Mary Pauline (Marvin) Ford, and Adlean (Clarence) Nelson; and brother, Clarence Anderson; grandchildren: Marquita Smith, Phillip Morris, Andrea Jasay Pinson, and Jasmine Smith. He also leaves special family friends, Alonzo and Michelle Johnson, employees and staff of Brookfield Properties, Figueroa at Wilshire, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
